Debtor Contribution Follow Up Date
The purpose of the “Followed Up” date is to provide a record of when you last contacted a debtor to remind them they haven’t paid their overdue contributions. You may choose to issue a failure to pay notice without a follow up, but, the ‘follow up’ date is intended to provide an interim level before a notice is issued.
The date is intended to provide a visual record on the home page view for easy management. If you drill down to the contribution (by clicking the "Due ($)" hyperlink, you can enter the date directly into the contribution record.
Following up a debtor contribution may be more involved than just recording a single date (as you may need to record a file note of more detailed information such as when the debtor agreed to pay or commentary around the circumstances). Nevertheless, for the purposes of issuing notices, the follow up is intended to provide as handy reference point to assist you manage overdue contributions and issue notices where appropriate.
Also note that you can issue a unpaid contribution notice, directly from the contribution by clicking on “Print Notice”.
