BAS Lodgement: Obtaining a new keystore.xml file

If your practice is registered to access the ATO business portal then you should have a keystore.xml file.

To locate the keystore.xml file type "%AppData%\ATOMAS" into a Windows Explorer address bar:

If you cannot locate your keystore.xml file then you can obtain one from the ATO using the following steps:

1. Using a Google Chrome browser login to the AUSKey manager (as Administrator)

https://abr.gov.au/AUSkey/. 

2. Click Register new AUSKeys



A verification email will be sent out to the applicant and the ATO email will provide instructions explaining the steps to download the keystore file.

Note

A single keystore file will be valid for all existing and new registrations of reporting entities where you have identified your practice as the intermediary representing the reporting entity.

Identifying your practice as the intermediary is done as part of the initial BAS registration process for each reporting entity.
