You can only change some details of a reconciled entry (including journals) such as the account coding and memo fields (provided you have permission to edit). You cannot change the total amount of any reconciled entry. If the journal is in a reconciled period, but, itself is unreconciled you can change the transaction provided the account is unlocked. You will receive a warning if the unreconciled entry was part of a previous reconciliation. The reason for this warning is because unreconciled totals appear on the F5602, F5603.
If you want to edit an entry that is reconciled you need to undo the reconciliation.
If an account is locked you will not be able to change an entry before the locked date. An account will be locked from preparing a statutory return such as a Form 5602, Form 5603 or BAS return. The account locked date is stored in the account details, which you access by right clicking on the account register and selecting ‘Edit account’.

By removing the ‘Locked as at Date’ you will be able to edit unreconciled entries.
