Entering time entries for jobs that do not have rates
If you try to enter a time entry and a rate has not been entered for the job's rate schedule, this warning message will appear.
You need to edit the rate schedule to make sure you have rates entered.
Updating the Rate Schedule
You may configure different schedules of rates.
To select a rate schedule:
- Navigation to Maintenance > Settings
- Select "Positions and Rates"
- Select a rate schedule from the drop down Rate Schedules drop-down.
The rate schedule configuration appears.
Enter Rates for Positions
For each rate schedule, each employee position may have many multiple rates assigned over different time periods.
To set a rate for a position:
- Expand an employee position
- Click the plus icon to add a new rate.
- Enter the "Rate" value
Note: Leave the "Date From" value blank for all dates. - Click the "Save" button
The rate is now saved.
Note
Make sure each user has been assigned to the relevant positions.
Enter rates that change over time
You may want to enter rates that change over time.
To enter a new rate with a "Date From" value:
- Expand an employee position
- Click the plus icon to add a new rate.
- Enter the "Rate" value
- Enter a "Date From" Value
- Click "Save"
The rates are now saved.
A position is now set with rate that changes over time. When entering a time sheet the date of the time entry will determine the rate used.
Important
Make sure your rate schedule is correct before adding time entries. You cannot update in bulk retrospectively.
Note
- By entering a "Date from" a new rate will apply after that date. If you only have one rate leave the date from blank
- Positions that appear in bold have rates assigned and can have time entered against the rates
- The remove rate button will be greyed out if a rate is in use. You may update the rate but not remove the rate.
