Using the Task Checklist view (and the task checklist reports), tasks are ordered in two ways:
Firstly, the Task Group has a "display order". You can configure the task group order using the Static data > Task Group configuration.
For example, you can specify that the "Appointment" group can appear at the top of the checklist and the "Finalisation" group can appear at the end of the checklist reports.
Secondly, each task within a job has a "display order", which can be configured by re-ordering the tasks (using drag-and-drop) in the Job Task view.
Click "Edit Checklist Layout" and use the mouse on the left column to re-order tasks:
Using the arrow, drag the top task from here:
to here:
When you re-order a task, you will be asked if you want to make the task a dependent task (dependent on the completion of the task above it). The default action is to create a top-level task independent of any other tasks.
Saving the new ordering In a job
To save the ordering (so it will be reflected on the checklist report) you need to click "Save Checklist Layout".
To continue editing the order click "Edit Checklist Layout".
Task ordering is inherited from a Task Template when the template is imported into the job, so you can pre-configure the task ordering in the task template.
The system only handles display order for tasks when you view tasks in the job or you have a job set as a filter in the main task view. (I.e. task ordering is not handled application wide).
