The location of the Application's default file directory structure for new Jobs (Corporate and Personal) is specified in Application Settings → Document Settings → Document Management Default Folder
When you add a Job, the software creates the sub folders defined by the Document Management Default Folder structure ❶ within a folder using the Job short name ❸ under the Document Management Root Folder.❷
Note: There may be a folder for each practice.
❹ The structure of the subdirectories of the Job folder can be configured through the file system (using Windows Explorer). In the example above the folder "Other" was set up under the default structure so that it is incorporated for each new Job.
You may set up any directory structure you want, except for consideration of the follow factors:
- Any new jobs will adopt the new folder structure, but, existing jobs will remain with their current structure.
- Document templates may have been configured to output in a specific default save path, if you delete this folder from the default set of folders then the folder will be recreated when the document is produced. The default save path configuration for a document template shows below:
- Particular documents are output to system locations such as lodgements, BAS and PAYG outputs, if these directories do not exist the software will recreate the folder.
These are the folders that will be created if the folders do not exist:
- Lodgements
- File Notes
- Archive Boxes
- Datasources
- Authorisations
- Correspondence
- Transactions
- Meetings
- Batches
- Reconciliations
Folders can be set at the Job level within the Document Management tab
Choose elipses
Choose New Folder and give it a name.
A new folder Info has been added for the Job Aard(CVL)
Note: You cannot add a document to "Aard(CVL) (C:\~ BUSINESS\Exalt\MT V5\Document..." at the root folder level. All documents must be added to existing folders within this structure.
You may also have separate folder structures for personal and corporate job types.
