The following example is based on importing a new Report using the Report Designer.
To import a report format (rpx):

This example uses the Account Transaction Detail Listing under Transaction Reports. - Display the report list
Some reports open to the "filter" page. To access the "report list", you may need to click on the "Back" button in the report wizard. - Create a new report

When importing a format the format needs to match the underlying data source of the report that you have copied. - Enter a name for the report
You will be prompted to enter a new report name for the report. - Click OK.
The new report appears in the report list. - Design the report layout
Right-click on the report and select "Design..."
The report designer view displays.
- import the rpx file
From the "File" menu select "Open" and chose to edit the layout..
The file dialogue appears.
Locate the new RPX file format. - Replace the layout
Select "No" when prompted to save the current layout. - Select the new RPX file
- Make a change to the layout
You need to make a change to a field on the report to force the format to Save. In this example, we are adding a full stop the caption of the "Ref" field:
- Click "Save and Exit" layout
You have now imported the rpx file.
Note
You can re-edit the report to remove the full stop on the "Ref" field.
