Some services on Azure are effectively bundled with the subscription. Other services attract an extra cost in addition to the subscription.
If there is already a subscription in place with additional resources:
- Open the Azure portal (https://portal.azure.com/)
- Select the subscription
The current cost together with a estimate of the total cost for that billing period is shown below the 'Essentials' section:
If there is no resources attached to the subscription and you want to get an estimate of the costs incurred in adding those resources, go to https://azure.microsoft.com/en-gb/pricing/calculator/:
Select the relevant service (product), then scroll down. You will need to adjust certain values, e.g., location (region), service tier, etc. The example below shows the default cost of a virtual machine:
After changing certain values (location, type of VM, charging tier, licensing and charging currency) the costs can be reduced:
Change the currency near the bottom of the estimate screen:
You can add additional resources to see the total estimated costs.
Clear the estimate by clicking the 'bin':
