There are several methods you may use to reconnect a workstation to the database:
Note
When you relocate the database you need to ensure that the 'Insol2Users' server login and password are properly set. Support will need to be involved in this step.
The methods are:
- Hold the SHIFT key when starting the application.
This will display the Connect to Database dialogue box: - Enter the Server and Database. The Insol2User username and password will default.
If holding SHIFT doesn't work, another option is to delete the Insolvency registry settings, see separate instructions. - Use the connect.txt method
By placing a connect.txt file in the application directory the software can use these details to connect to the database. The software deletes this file after a one-time use.
The connect.txt file may be distributed by using a user profile to copy the file over. This is discussed further in https://exalt.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/222781687-Migrating-the-Insolvency-database-to-another-server
Example of connect.txt contents
myserver.mydomain.com;Insol2
- You may also edit the application shortcut to include the database server and database name.
This is by the user of command line switches in the application shortcut.
