This error may occur when sending emails using Insolvency. The issue will be caused by the SMTP configuration:
Use the "Send test to:" button in "Application Settings" to debug the SMTP messages.
Some causes:
- The most common reason of this problem is the SMTP server configuration does not to allow sending mail to external domains for unauthenticated users. In this case you will be able to send to internal email addresses but not external.
- If using Office 365, make sure to configure correctly
- The mail server take too long to send (times out). This is rare but may happen with large files.
Once the SMTP server has been configured to allow sending, specify the System Notification Mailbox and the Email Debug Path and Send a test email by clicking on "Send Test To".
The "email debug file" error log should give you an indication of why the SMTP server is not responding correctly.
It will usually come down to properly entering the email credentials, the port or allowing sending from the sending machine or from the user name.
